Japanese manufacturers have recently developed PP continuous extrusion molding technology with a foaming ratio of up to 30 times and started to promote the application.
This technology will be applied first to the production of residential floor insulation materials, and will be extended to automotive parts and other fields to make the products lighter and more insulative. In the past, it was difficult for PP to perform continuous extrusion molding with foaming of 10 times or more, and a special foaming system developed by Japanese companies using supercritical carbon dioxide as a foaming agent successfully exceeded the limit of "10 times or more". The new molding technology can improve the thermal insulation performance of PP materials, achieve weight reduction, reduce costs, and have long-term stability that has not been achieved in the past. In addition, the non-crosslinked PP, the main material for this new molding technology, can be recycled using existing recycling technologies and equipment, and the harmful VOC content is almost zero.
