Sum-burning experience of cotton fabric

The combustion temperature of polyester is generally about 450°C, and its melting point is 250 to 265°C. Therefore, in the singeing of such fabrics, it is necessary to burn the fluff on its surface, but also to protect the fabric itself from damage, that is, not to cause "overburning" and brittleness, which is a key problem.

On the other hand, fabrics blended with polyester and viscose, when singed on a general singeing machine, produce horizontal and vertical wrinkles, and the cloth surface also pulsates. It was determined that when the amplitude of the beating exceeds 5 mm, due to the different degree of heating of the fluff on the cloth surface, the singeing is not net and produces a very uneven stripe, which is more obvious when the fabric is dyed.

According to the domestic experience of printing and dyeing factories in this region, the following points can be summarized:

(1) Synthetic fabrics should be singed on a gas singeing machine, and should not be singed on hot plates (including cylinders).

(2) According to the blending ratio of the grey cloth , the melting point of the fiber, the heat resistance, the organization specification, the thickness and the like, a suitable singeing process condition is formulated.

(3) Take measures to prevent "over-burning" and cloth jumping.

(4) Pay attention to changes in the fabric width and feel during singeing. If you find that the amplitude contraction is too large or feel rough, you should adjust the length of the flame to prevent "over-burning."

(5) The static elimination device shall be installed at the place where the cloth is placed so that the cloth can be smoothly dropped and the working conditions can be improved.

For measures to prevent the gas singeing machine from overburning, proper cooling can be given immediately after the fabric is singed out of the fire mouth so that the heat accumulation on the surface of the fabric is too large and the temperature is too high. The specific method has the following points.

(1) Change the cloth route and increase the ventilation cooling time between adjacent craters and before cloth fall.

(2) Install a cold water roll above or above the crater to cool the fabric.

(3) Use extra craters during singeing and blow air into the fabric to cool the air.

(4) Install a tuyere between the adjacent craters and before the fall, and use a blower to blow in the outdoor air. In the summer, the air that has been rinsed with cold water can be blown into the cloth and cooled vertically.

Among them, the most used is to install cold water rollers above the crater to cool the fabric. However, the cold water roller requires high machining accuracy, no runout and water leakage during operation, and the roller surface is often cleaned. This will not only prevent "over-burning", improve the feel, prevent skeining of the fabric from jumping, but also protect the mesh, jacquard, and other fabrics from the flame penetration hole and prevent the fabric from burning out.
