Nanjing sculptor creates bronze statue of Sun Wen to exhibit in Japan

The sculptures of Sun Yat-sen and Mei-tzu Zuji and Madame Dezi presented by Japan’s State Council Information Office and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences were formally displayed to the public on October 1st and will be on display until March 25 next year. This three-person sculpture is an important piece of work exhibited by Japan's Nagasaki to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution.

Meizhuang Zhuangji and Sun Yat-sen met in Hong Kong in 1895. The Meizhuang Shoji couple dumped their wealth to purchase aircraft and other equipment for Sun Yat-sen's business, and helped train Chinese pilots in Japan. The sculpture creator, the president of the Nanjing Institute of Oil Painting and Sculpture, told reporters that the sculpture was delivered to the Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture in the afternoon on September 29 and was placed in the center of the entrance hall.
