### Fabric Suggestions
In response to your requests, I’ve put together some fabric recommendations for you. However, please note that I haven’t seen these fabrics in person, so I highly suggest requesting a swatch before purchasing any yardage. During my virtual shopping spree, I focused on wool coatings in various weights. Some of the fabrics I picked are double-faced, while others are more traditional wool coatings. If you’d like to explore further, you can easily find more options at your local fabric store.
When choosing your fabric, aim for something with a bit of heft and body that still drapes beautifully, allowing that elegant cascade down the front of the coat. Avoid anything overly stiff—look for a fabric that feels substantial without being cumbersome. If you're unsure, ask the staff at the fabric shop—they'll likely have a great selection of wool coatings to choose from. ### Other Supplies
Besides coordinating thread for your coat, you might find that a bit of stabilizing tape could come in handy, particularly for the shoulders and neckline. The wool I used for my version had significant stretch along the cross-grain (from selvage to selvage), which is quite typical. To prevent the neckline and shoulders from stretching over time, I used 1/4" cotton twill tape. I’ll delve deeper into this during the sew-along, but if your chosen fabric exhibits similar elasticity, consider using stabilizing tape as well. That’s all you’ll need—no zippers, no interfacing, no buttons. Isn’t that fantastic?
