China has been ranked first in trade investigations for 14 consecutive years

As of November, 19 countries and regions have initiated 102 trade investigations on Chinese products this year, involving more than US$11.68 billion. The "Global Trade Friction Research Report (2009)" released by the Ministry of Commerce yesterday pointed out that as of 2008, China has ranked first in the global trade relief survey for 14 consecutive years. China's trade remedy is not required to be "internal and external repair", and the trade remedy system should be improved internally. The dispute resolution mechanism should be actively used to safeguard China's legitimate rights and interests.

Technical barriers become major obstacles to exports

The impact of the financial crisis on global physical industries has led WTO members to frequently use trade remedy measures to protect domestic industries.

In 2008, a total of 222 new cases of trade relief were launched globally, an increase of 24.7% over 2007. As of October 28 this year, WTO members have launched a total of 225 new trade remedy cases, exceeding the level of last year.

Although there are more than 90 countries and regions for anti-dumping investigations, it is still a small number of countries and regions such as China, India and South Korea. From the perspective of the industry involved, the global trade remedy survey mainly focuses on metals, chemical products and rubber and plastic products, while trade remedies involve steel and chemicals and some light industrial products.

At present, frequent trade remedy investigations have deeply affected China's related industries and institutional fields. Yang Yi, director of the Bureau of Industrial Damage Investigation of the Ministry of Commerce, said that “technical barriers to trade will become a major obstacle to China's product exports. The current technical barriers to trade in China are mainly There are product recalls from the US Consumer Safety Commission, refusal of entry by the US Food and Drug Administration, food detention in Japan, etc."

It is understood that more than one-third of China's export enterprises were affected by foreign technical trade measures to varying degrees, and the export trade lost more than $50.5 billion.
