Recently, Joyoung (China) Co., Ltd. announced a formal partnership with IBM to collaboratively develop a cutting-edge supply chain solution tailored specifically for the Chinese men's wear industry. Industry experts view this as yet another significant step towards global expansion. Chen Jiaya, CEO of Joyoung (China), mentioned that following the establishment of this strategic collaboration, IBM will assist in streamlining and optimizing key processes within Joyoung's supply chain, including production management, logistics, and sales. This effort will focus heavily on redefining operational models and enhancing planning efficiency. The project aims to boost the accuracy of Nine Herdsmen’s sales, improve inventory turnover rates, and significantly enhance the forecasting and replenishment processes in their product mix. As a result, it is anticipated that the sales growth rate could rise by 7.5%, inventory turnover rates might double, and the efficiency of the replenishment system will see a substantial increase. Li Jianbo, General Manager of IBM’s Greater China Global Business Services, highlighted that a modern supply chain acts as a comprehensive network connecting suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and consumers. Effective supply chain management can reduce costs by approximately 20%, cut the time from order to production by 20%-30%, and elevate productivity across the supply chain nodes by at least 15%. The collaboration between IBM and Joyoung seeks to establish a benchmark for supply chain management within the Chinese men's wear sector while offering valuable insights for similar industries. It is known that Nine Herdsmen plans to invest hundreds of millions of yuan to form strategic partnerships with two European brands through joint ventures or acquisitions. Consequently, many in the industry believe that laying a solid foundation for international growth is the core motivation behind this collaboration. Recently, Lin Cong-ying, Chairman of Joyoung (China), stated that in the current landscape, Chinese companies must not only fortify their domestic markets but also proactively seek opportunities abroad. IBM’s global reach will undoubtedly infuse fresh energy into its partner enterprises. Known as the "expert in men's trousers," Nine Herdsmen has consistently held the top position in domestic market share for men's trousers over the past nine years, boasting the highest sales volume and widest market coverage.
