I’m thrilled to finally introduce you to Woodland Clearing, my latest fabric collection created in collaboration with the wonderful team at Robert Kaufman. Their fabrics have always been a favorite of mine—Kaufman is known for producing some of the highest-quality materials in the independent fabric market. From their renowned Kona solids to an impressive range of apparel fabrics like chambray, denim, linen, corduroy, and even gingham, they truly offer something for everyone.
When I first heard about this project, I was beyond excited. Not only do I admire their dedication to quality, but working with them also gave me the freedom to push creative boundaries. For this collection, I was allowed up to 18 screens per design, which meant we could incorporate incredibly detailed watercolor-inspired prints. This level of precision allowed us to capture the delicate nuances of nature, resulting in fabrics that feel alive with color and texture.
Woodland Clearing features 26 distinct designs on soft cotton lawn, along with one striking print on a waterproof laminate. If you’ve ever worked with Kaufman’s Cambridge solids or their London Calling series, you’ll recognize the exceptional quality of this lawn—it’s smooth, breathable, and absolutely delightful to sew with. The laminate adds another layer of versatility, perfect for projects like raincoats, aprons, or even tablecloths.
To give you a sneak peek, here are some teaser photos showcasing the collection in different arrangements. These stacks aren’t just random—they’re a reflection of how I’ve been experimenting with print combinations, imagining all the sewing projects they’ll inspire.

Already, my daughter S has asked for a new Secret Agent Trench Coat using the laminate. Last weekend, I crafted her a reversible Swingset Skirt featuring two prints from the collection. It’s such a joy to see these fabrics come to life in practical, everyday items.
Unfortunately, Woodland Clearing won’t hit store shelves until January. However, the collection will debut at Quilt Market next month. While I wish I could attend, current circumstances prevent me from leaving the EU until my residency card arrives—a process that remains uncertain. Rest assured, though, I’ll have plenty of updates, images, and project ideas to share once the fabrics are closer to release.
In the meantime, if you love what you see here, please help spread the word, especially to your local fabric shops. Word-of-mouth is invaluable, and I’d be grateful for any support you can offer.
Until then, happy sewing, and stay tuned for more exciting updates!
