I’m thrilled to finally share with you the launch of Woodland Clearing, my latest fabric collection created in collaboration with the wonderful team at Robert Kaufman. For years now, Kaufman fabrics have been my go-to choice for both quilting and fashion projects. Their Kona solids and other high-quality quilting fabrics are simply unmatched in terms of texture and durability. Beyond that, they also offer an impressive range of apparel fabrics like chambray, denim, linen, corduroy, and gingham—basically everything you’d ever need for your creative projects!
One of the highlights of working on this collection was being given the freedom to experiment with up to 18 screens per design. This allowed us to bring my watercolor-inspired artwork to life with rich color gradients and intricate details. The result is a series of 26 unique designs printed on luxurious cotton lawn, along with one striking print available on a waterproof laminate fabric—perfect for creating outerwear like raincoats.
As soon as I received the first samples, I couldn’t resist diving into some test projects. It's always exciting to see how different fabrics interact with each other visually, so I spent hours stacking and rearranging prints to envision future sewing projects. Here are a few sneak peeks of what you can expect from Woodland Clearing:

Already, my daughter has set her sights on a new Secret Agent Trench Coat crafted from the laminate fabric, while I recently completed a reversible Swingset Skirt using two complementary prints.
While Woodland Clearing officially hits store shelves in January, I’m eager to keep you updated as we approach its release date. Unfortunately, due to ongoing visa restrictions, I won’t be attending Quilt Market this year. However, rest assured that once the fabrics become widely available, I’ll be sharing plenty of tutorials, project ideas, and styling tips right here on my blog. Until then, if you love what you’ve seen so far, please consider spreading the word to your favorite local fabric shops—they might just become your new go-to source for inspiration!
Stay tuned because there’s still much more to come. In the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions or feedback—you know how much I value hearing from fellow fabric enthusiasts like yourselves. Happy stitching!
