2012 China (Chongqing) Crafts, Gifts & Home Accessories Fair

The 2012 China (Chongqing) Arts & Crafts, Gifts & Home Accessories Fair, co-sponsored by Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Committee and Nanan District People's Government of Chongqing, will be held from April 5th to 8th at Chongqing (Nanping) International Convention and Exhibition Center. This exposition will be composed of five major theme exhibitions, including handicrafts and processing equipment exhibitions, tourism best-selling food exhibitions, home accessories exhibitions, mahogany furniture and root carving exhibitions, calligraphy and painting, four treasures of Wenfang, and antique exhibition.

Chongqing has never been detached from the world's attention, and it has highlighted its unparalleled advantages in the development of new strategies. The policy level, industry level, economic level, and urban development level all give Chongqing its wings for development. The establishment of “Two Rivers New Area” became the third in the country after Shanghai’s Pudong and Tianjin Binhai, and the only city with a national-level new district inland. Chongqing has a large accumulation of its own culture, convenient water and land transportation, a huge cultural consumption group, and a wealth of ornamental stone resources in the neighboring provinces and cities. With its many advantages, Chongqing has formed another important distribution center and a place of consumption for the best-selling products for crafts, gifts and tourism.

The successful holding of the first four exhibitions has laid a solid foundation for the Craft Fair in 2012. The Municipal Economic Commission attaches great importance to it, and regards “promoting traditional crafts and stimulating industrial development” as its objective, “exhibiting the fine craftsmanship of the western region and promoting Chinese culture's rapid development”. The theme is to provide a display platform for craftsmanship and masterpieces. The collection of national craft works highlights the charm of the world's collections, promotes cultural exchanges, and stimulates trade exchanges. Chongqing will become a cultural industrial base integrating arts and crafts culture and folk art.
