Hello fellow sewing enthusiasts! Today, I wanted to share a quick update with you about an exciting event we’re bringing back. Do you recall Made for Kids Month? We first hosted it a few years ago in June, and I think it’s high time we reintroduce this wonderful tradition!
The concept is simple: throughout the entire month of June, let’s celebrate and showcase the handmade garments and accessories worn by our children. Whether these items were crafted by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, or even the kids themselves, we want to highlight the joy and creativity behind handmade clothing.
Getting involved is super easy. Whenever you spot your child rocking something handmade in June, take a picture! Don’t forget to tag it with #madeforkidsmonth on Instagram so everyone can enjoy seeing the results.
I’ve always found it a shame when we admire a newly completed piece but never see it being worn afterward. This initiative gives us the chance to relive those creations through your shared photos and watch how they look in real life.
Here are some additional thoughts about the project:
- Feel free to include anything handmade, from sewn garments to knitted pieces or crocheted accessories.
- You don’t need to document every single day of June—participate as much or as little as suits your family.
